As the name suggests, a person may feel like an imposter, which is defined as a person who pretends to be something or someone they are not, and so imposter syndrome is where a person doubts their accomplishments so much that one of their biggest fears is to be exposed or perceived as a fraud. In more layman’s terms, imposter syndrome is the belief that you are not as competent as others perceive you to be.
